We conducted a vote of what Brevard locals considered the top 10 surfing essentials and hot spots. Here are the results:

Sticky Bumps- best wax Overall, the majority of surfers throughout Brevard agreed that they could not live without Sticky Bumps Wax for that extra grip on their surf boards.
Surfanista- best pre surf meal This bohemian cafe centered in the heart of downtown Cocoa Beach, is where many surfers prefer to get their pre-surf breakfast smoothies and meals before they paddle out.
Taco city- best post surf meal With tacos as cheap as $2, and $1 domestic drafts (on Tuesdays) this is a surfer’s paradise for a post surf grub session.
Windansea- best ding repair shop Dinging your surfboard comes with the territory of being a surfer. For ding repairs, our poll concluded that Windansea is the go-to spot for damage repairs.
Island surf and skate- best surf apparel For men's and women's clothing apparel, Island Surf and Skate took the cake as the trendiest shop around.
Starr boards- best board brand This was a close call, but overall Starr won for best quality boards. You can find Starr Boards at Core Surf in Cape Canaveral where owner Dennis Griffin will help you with all of your board needs.
Ron jon- Best suits For a variety of fashionable bathing suits and wet suits, Ron Jon Surf Shop was ranked the best shop.
Cocoa beach surf co.- best surf instructions All surfers started at the same place. Not knowing how to pop up, or where to paddle out in the line up. Cocoa Beach Surf Co. won the vote for best surf instructing lessons.
Sandbar- best entertainment When the sun goes down, and the waves are hidden beneath the midnight sky, Sandbar is where you can find the top music and entertainment.
Carver skateboard- best skateboard brand Summer syndrome...it’s a nightmare for any die hard surfer. The ocean is flat and there are no waves to ride. However, locals agreed that Carver skateboards are the best, perhaps due to their surf training ability.
